Ewaste is a private company based in Lafayette,
Indiana that collects used computers and other office equipment
from companies and individuals.
The equipment is wiped of the
original owner's data according to U.S. Department of Defence standard
5220.22-M.
Working machines may be refurbished for resale to people who
would not otherwise be able to afford a computer.
Non-functioning machines are disassembled and
recycled.
Midwest Ewaste makes every attempt to protect
the environment by returning the equipment into the marketplace as
refurbished equipment or by recycling and disposing of the equipment in
EPA approved fashion.
